At the end of January all eyes are directed to the sky when hot air balloons can be seen over Lake Tegernsee.

About 20 hot air balloons in unusual shapes and colors, airships and model balloons. The highlight of every Montgolfiade at the Tegernsee is the traditional ballooning with musical background: the flames of the burners make the hot air balloons reddish in the evening sky, creating a unique atmosphere. Not only in the air, but also on the ground, a varied program takes place in the first week of February. Under the motto “fire & ice”, the visitors will be expecting a winter market with over 50 artists and exhibitors, who will be present along the lake promenade in Bad Wiessee. Guests are pampered with culinary delicacies or a hot drink at the snow bar with a view of the lake. Livemusik, fire show and a varied children’s program complete the winter season.
