Naturally! Kreuth.
During the Pentecost holidays there will again be two weeks of family-friendly nature and adventure events. Then in the mountaineering village of Kreuth everything revolves around fauna and flora, forestry and alpine farming as well as the Kreuth producers who let us look over their shoulders as they work. It starts with a family action day. The complete program of “Naturally! Kreuth” ranges from guided hikes and horse-drawn carriage rides to alpaca yoga through to sightseeing and musical alpine experiences. There is a mountain biking day and a nature adventure hike especially for children. Info
German championship hot air balloon at Tegernsee
From 20th to 23rd The German hot air ballooning championship will take place in the Tegernsee Valley in May 2026. Around 20 German and international pilots compete in demanding competitions with sports balloons. The start takes place daily based on the current weather conditions and the specific challenges of the competition from different starting points in the Tegernsee Valley and from the Warngau starting point. The starts take place in the early morning and late afternoon. No passenger trips are possible and there is no public supporting program. Hut openings
The Kreuzbergalm has been open again since last weekend. The Königsalm will open again on May 23rd, 2026 and has a new telephone number: +49 8029 1487.
Serenade by the Lake – postponed
Due to the weather, the serenade at the lake by the Rottach-Egern brass band was postponed from Sunday, May 17th to Friday, September 11th, 2026.
Opening of the Tegernsee Valley Museum including the opening of a special exhibition
Next Sunday, May 17th, the Intern. Museum Day, the Tegernsee Tal Museum opens into the summer season. At the same time, this year’s special exhibition “Setting the course – 125 years of the Tegernsee Bahn” will open.

Reminder – road renewal near Leeberg
During the Pentecost holidays there will be a complete closure from Tuesday, May 26th to Friday, June 5th. The construction route runs from the “Fischerstüberl” hotel-restaurant to the Adelberg curve at Schwaighofstrasse 11. The walking and cycling path remains open. Hot air balloon on Tegernsee
Wings for Life World Run 2026
The Wings for Life World Run will take place in Rottach-Egern on Sunday, May 10, 2026. As part of this event, Seestraße will be completely closed from 12:00 PM to 3:30 PM, as will all access points to Seestraße. All other streets, such as Fürstenstraße, Aribostraße, Überfahrtstraße, etc., will have restricted access. Road closures »

The new climbing forest at Wallbergmoos is now open and currently available to guests and locals from Friday to Sunday.

Roadworks on Schwarzentennalmstraße
Both Schwarzenbachstraße and Schwarzentennstraße will be undergoing repairs by the Schliersee Forestry Office of the Bavarian State Forests from March 16, 2026, until approximately May 22, 2026, and will be closed to vehicles and pedestrians during this period. The Buchstein Hut, Schwarzentennalm, and Tegernsee Hut remain fully accessible on foot from the Klamm parking area via the marked hiking trail. Cyclists can reach these huts via the alternative route through the Söllbach Valley from Bad Wiessee.
